Writers’ gold mines come in all shapes and sizes. You just never know when or where you’ll find the nugget you need. But in my experience, MFA programs are mother lodes — especially low-residency programs, where every semester delivers each student somewhere between 40 and 60 pages of editorial notes laser focused on their writing.
